Culture Pre-Assessment Guide
The Innovation Adoption (IA) practice area of the CoE now offers a Culture Pre-Assessment Guide that includes guided activities to help you understand and pre-assess your organization’s culture and its potential impact on your technology modernization initiative.
The guide provides resources for an organization to conduct their own culture pre-assessment, and the interactive workshop series compliments the guide and offers peer support.

Workshop 1: Introduction to Culture
May 26, 2022, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn key elements of culture and its role in the change that comes with IT modernization initiatives. In this session, participants will gain tangible, usable knowledge and skills in order to support new or existing modernization projects, including:
- How elements of an organization’s culture can help or hinder modernization efforts
- How culture impacts modernization efforts
- Key activities that support a culture pre-assessment
Workshop 2: Culture Pre-Assessment
June 2, 2022, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In this session, participants will apply specific techniques of the culture pre-assessment using information and resources provided in the first session.
Office Hours: Learn more about your Culture Pre-Assessment
June 16, 2022, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In these optional office hours, subject matter experts will be available to address questions on artifact collection, stakeholder identification, and any other inquiries on your culture pre-assessment.
Participants are encouraged to attend both workshop sessions and can also attend office hours to gain the designed learning and experience. The workshop will be facilitated by IA leads.
This workshop series is a virtual event through Zoom for Government. Live captioning is available to all participants. The sessions are open only for federal employees.
CoE Resources & Advisory Support
This guide and complimentary workshops were developed as a part of CoE’s Resources & Advisory Support. Through American Rescue Plan funding, we are able to develop resources based on what we have learned through our work with over 25 partner agencies and provide them at no cost to support federal agencies undergoing technology transformation projects.
